Womenin the Progressive Era – in the early 20th century in the United States, womenbecame active proponents of political and social change, even though they couldnot vote in many states. This presentation is an overview of how women from allbackgrounds worked to reform the US socially, economically, and politically.

TheAppalachian Trail and the American Environmental Movement
TheAppalachian Trail is a 2,180+ mile long public footpath that traverses thescenic, wooded, pastoral, wild, and culturally resonant lands of the AppalachianMountains. Conceived in 1921, built by private citizens, and completed in 1937,today the trail is managed by the National Park Service, US Forest Service,Appalachian Trail Conservancy, numerous state agencies and thousands ofvolunteers. This presentation is a reflection on formation of this trail and adiscussion on the American Environmental Movement.
